Cheaters beware, Emotional Atyachar is here!
Back in October 2000, a very controversial show started its 9 season long run in the USA. It was called Cheaters. The show was simple. If you think your spouse is cheating you, you could call Cheaters and they will find out the truth. Armed with spy cameras, hidden microphones and actors who played secret agents to find out the truth, the show was a big hit. Obviously Controversy followed. But in the end the show was a massive hit for The CW, the channel which airs the show. Its currently in its 9th season and has been going strong as ever! Now, UTV Bindaas has brought this show to India. Its called Emotional Atyaachar (On the cult song from Dev D). It premiered today at 7pm and let me tell you it was FANTASTIC!
The format is similar to the original US version. You have a girlfriend/boyfriend/best friend/husband/wife who approaches them and tell them the whole story of their spouse and why they have a suspicion on him/her. The rest is then taken care of by the crew.
In the first episode a guy tries to save his best friend’s girlfriend from taking their relationship to the marriage stage because of his flirtatious behaviour and constant lying. The dude approaches the show and then spy cameras, hidden microphones, and models take over. In the later part of the show, the footage is shown to the best friend and his friends girlfriend. Both are shocked. The BEST part of the show is now. The girlfriend is asked where does she think is her guy right now and she replies at his own house. Then LIVE footage is shown of his whereabouts! Turns out he is home. BUT sadly at another female’s home. The crew and the girlfriend are taken to the female’s home and now comes the confrontation! The girlfriend literally throws a plate of chicken on her cheating partner and the rest you have to see to beleive!
The show is filled with action right from the beginning and does not bore you. Angad Bedi, the host is calm, cool and composed and deserves to be noticed. He is what keeps the show going on.AND their opening theme is their own rendition of Dev D’s Emotional Atyaachar and it is freaking awesome!! The only thing i found irritating was the on screen graphics and the sound effects that accompany them. Its really not needed, you have a great show Bindass! The first episode was really nice and if they keep up with it, then be ready for the most hatke reality shows on TV right now. It takes reality to all new levels. If you are tired of all the MTV and Channel V reality shows then do take a look at Emotional Atyachaar! Airs at 8pm everyday and 7pm on some days. Don’t miss this show people!!
